Hi, I’m Carol, Co-Founder of Shokay.

We are the #1 global brand dedicated to creating premium products from sustainable yak wool. I’ve been on this journey for nearly 20 years, all because I discovered this incredible fibre that is rarely used in fashion.

Inspired by a United Nations report describing yak wool as “comparable to cashmere,” I traced the source to Tibetan communities in the Himalayan mountains 3500 meters high. 

Yak is more premium than wool, more affordable than cashmere, and above all it directly creates opportunities for remote Tibetan communities. 

Our team became the experts in yak because from sweaters, jackets, base layers, socks, throws, eye masks, and even sleeping bags, we have tried to create everything. I convinced the best spinners, mills, and brands around the world to work with me because the more applications we could discover with yak, the greater impact we could create for the communities. 

We care about them so much that we helped pioneer the world’s first animal welfare standard and invest in regenerating their grasslands. Our products support:
