How do I care for yak wool?
Machine Woven & Machine Knit Products
For machine woven & machine knit products, we recommend you to dry clean your product.
Hand Knit Products
For hand knit products, dry cleaning is also recommended, though not necessary. If you would like to wash the products at home, we recommend one of the two washing options:
- Place your Shokay item in a garment bag. Wash using a cold, gentle cycle in the washing machine. Do not bleach.
- Hand wash your Shokay item using cold water and mild detergent. Do not bleach.
Lay flat to dry, as hanging your item on a line will stretch out the natural fibers. Cool iron if needed.
To reduce pilling, avoid rubbing the yak down against harsh surfaces. Remember that all natural fibers, including cashmere, will pill and must be carefully washed and handled.

Store all Shokay products in cool, dry environments.
