Shokay’s Artist in Residence program is an ongoing collaboration with artists on our continuing journey to share the extraordinary richness of the Qinghai region and its people.
The Mist and Ripples Shawl is part of a watercolor series by multimedia artist Caitlin Reilly. Caitlin collected old items such as wooden doors and window frames from around Chongming Island to create a series of art installations. These shawls feature her watercolor paintings inspired by the materials, shades, and stories behind these art installations.
