Berlin Fashion Week: Yak’s Dominate
This summer, we had the honor of showing some of our designs at Mercedez-Benz Fashion Week in Berlin. In July, our head of design Keena Fletcher spent the week styling models, hob nobbing with Heidi Klum (slight exaggeration), and seeing the sites. Here is Keena’s style file: Continue reading
Shokay Shoutout

Kid’s Cloche Hat Pattern
Something is happening that you should be aware of. First, I heard that Alaska had it’s first frost of the season. So you know what that means…cooler weather is almost here.
Second, I’m pretty certain that I saw ole Mr. Cooper shining his big yellow school bus down the street, wearing that maniacal grin of his which alerted me to the oh so happy reality that the kids are going back to school!
In celebration of these two joyous occurrences, we bring you a warm (but not too warm) cloche hat pattern to top off your child’s head (that sounded weird didn’t it? let’s move forward). Made with our Orient 75% yak down/25% bamboo yarn, it’s a nice autumn weight. The pattern can be sized from 6 months to 5T, and was created for us by Talitha Kuomi.

Bonus points: cloche means bell in French, hence the shape.
Stir-crazy Knitting (Knitting with Kids)
For a lot of you, it’s still weeks before your kiddos go back to
school. And after two months at home, they’ve mastered Spanish
with Dora and Chinese with Kai-lan. It’s too hot to go outside.
They don’t want to read any of their books. So they come to you
bleating, “I’m so bored!” We have a solution. Teach them
to knit! The web is full of tutorials and easy projects to help
your children learn your favorite hobby. Continue reading
